Marilou GiesbrechtAllow me to introduce myself: I am Marilou Giesbrecht. I am happily married and a stay-at-home mother of 3.

My husband is the computer guru who made the website “SunBlossom Creations” happen. When he was done he turned to me and said “Honey, it is yours. Put your passion into it.”

As a girl growing up I started out with sketching. That taught me perspective. Then my pencil evolved into a paintbrush. Through that I learned the concepts of color and contrast. The strokes of the brush on my canvas turned into the stroke of a key on the keyboard of my very first computer. Thus began my journey into the world of technology. And considering the fact that I was taught to sew early on, my knowledge and experience of sewing and my love for technology naturally evolved into machine embroidery.

Then I moved to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. It was there in the midst of that rugged beauty that I discovered my inspiration. Although I was completely captivated by the landscape, I was even more intrigued by Colorado's colorful history.

It was also there that I met, fell in love, and married my husband.

Our wedding took place in the fall when the aspen leaves were turning a brilliant golden color. My mother-in-law remarked later that, while driving up to our ceremony on the little country road lined with those golden aspens, it was as if God had turned the light on.

He definitely had! There couldn't have been a more perfect day for the beginning of a new life together. On a warm, sunny day, amongst tall stately pine trees surrounding a sparkling mountain lake, we pledged our hearts to each other.

One by one, four children arrived. Three of them we’ve been blessed to have, to hold, and to marvel in their growth. One, a tiny baby boy, we had to tearfully say good-bye to.

So here I am, hanging the "Welcome" sign in my web window. With the experiences I've lived through, the knowledge I've gained along the way, and the inspiration I've been blessed to receive, SunBlossom Creations is destined to be exactly what I intend it to be: simple, original, interesting, colorful, fun, and completely successful!

That's my passion.
